Entries Close Friday 26th October, 2012.

CONDITIONS

Exhibits must be in place by 9.00am on Friday 26th October 2012, at which time Judging will commence. All exhibits must be from the current seasons’ clip. Skirted fleeces are required in all classes. The Judge’s decision is final. Exhibits can be collected on Saturday 27th October from 6.00pm

 GRAND CHAMPION FLEECE AND RESERVE CHAMPION FLEECE IS JUDGED ON CLASSES 1-6

 

FARMERS CLASSES

7.  One fleece, fine

9.  One fleece, strong

10. Three matching fleeces, any quality

Classes 7-10 are not open to Registered Breeders and or members of the Great Southern Merino Breeders Assoc.

 

JUDGING

The following is a scale of points upon which wool will be judged.        
1.     Character;  Style and Wool Type.  20 points
2.     Handle;  Softness & Pliancy applicable to type.  14 points
3.     Colour or Bloom;  The brightness necessary for top grading.  10 points
4.     Length;  The conformity of length throughout the fleece.  14 points
5.     Soundness;  Sufficient tensile strength to give the best result for combing.  16 points
6.     Evenness;  Uniformity of fibres throughout fleece (eg: run off ).  10 points
7.     Density;  Compactness of growth, bulk and breadth of staple for type.  16 points

 TOTAL : 100 points

There is no Junior Section in Section A
